Professor Abregu holds a Juris Doctor from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, School of Law and a BA in Sociology and Philosophy from Mississippi State University. In addition to her work in the legal field, Professor Abregu has worked in the social science research field participating in studies on Hispanic immigration to the South and Hispanic Ethnic Groups "Self-Identification"
