An understanding of psychology can be applied to every aspect of professional and personal life. The Department of Applied Psychology offers courses that provide a deep understanding of the self, other people, and how to apply that knowledge to a broad range of professional fields.
Publications and Achievements 2017-2018
- Professors Allison Butler and Nanci Weinberger co-authored “Child Life Specialists’ Evaluation of Hospital Playroom Design: A Mixed-Method Inquiry,” which was published in the Journal of Interior Design.
- Professor Butler also wrote “Educational Exchange: Investigation of a Videoconference-based Instructional Program for Educational Psychology Undergraduates and Fifth-Graders,” which is in press at Psychology Learning and Teaching.
- Professor Heather Lacey securied RI-INBRE Summer Research Fellowships for department students.
