The Department of Communication's undergraduate and graduate academic programs embrace a common mission: to fortify the intellectual and social skills necessary for effective human communication. The focus is on oral, written, and mediated communication skills that are essential in both professional and personal lives.
Understanding China Fellowship for Communication professor
As part of his Understanding China Fellowship, Communication Prof. Stanley Baran presented a series of lectures to faculty and students of the School of Arts and Communication at the China University of Geosciences (CUG) in Wuhan last month. His two-week visit to China was so successful that he and Dean of College of Arts and Sciences David Lux, who also took part in the trip, were offered letters of appointment as Guest Professors at CUG, granting them the opportunity to lecture there at their discretion.
