Bryant University recognizes the importance of information systems and analytics for all levels of management and provides a Information Systems and Analytics curriculum that is both challenging and relevant.


Data visualization in the spotlight at annual SAS gathering

Data visualization was the theme of the fourth annual Analytics Using SAS® Day, sponsored by Bryant University Advanced Applied Analytics Center (AAAC) hosted its fourth annual Analytics Using SAS® Day on Nov. 1.

Keynote speaker Jeff Diamond, Director of Research and Development, Business Intelligence, shared insights about SAS® Visual Analytics on SAS® Viya, the most current approach to data visualization.

SAS® has been a key partner with the AAAC in designing several of Bryant's academic programs, including an undergraduate interdisciplinary concentration in analytics, among the first of its kind; an undergraduate concentration in applied statistics in the Department of Mathematics with certification in data mining; and a graduate certificate in business analytics. Bryant also recently launched a Bachelor of Science in Data Science (B.S.D.S).

“Leading organizations depend on turning large volumes of data into information that aids strategic decision making,” said Richard Glass, Ph.D., Professor of Information Systems and Analytics and founding co-director of the AAAC. "Bryant’s Bachelor of Science in Data Science program prepares students to gain cutting-edge skills that help organizations achieve their strategic goals.”

In addition to Diamond, three other industry experts spoke at this year’s conference:

  • Radhikha Myneni, Principal Research Statistician, Advanced Analytics Research and Development, SAS® Institute;
