About This Department

Science offers a powerful approach for meeting many of the challenges experienced today. Through our flexible, relevant programs of study, our students are prepared to be problem solvers and change makers in an increasingly complex world.

At the undergraduate level, Bryant provides students many opportunities to develop their passions in the biological and environmental fields. Our department offers study within career tracks such as pre-health, cellular and molecular biology, general biology, ecology and conservation, sustainability management and environmental health and toxicology that prepare students for employment or graduate school. At the graduate level, we offer a certificate in sustainability practices.

Throughout our program, students are inspired to achieve through personal attention. Faculty mentors guide students in selecting a course of study aligned with their interests. They also recommend complementary co-curricular opportunities that prepare students for the professional world or graduate-level training, including collaborating with faculty on cutting-edge research projects, internships, engaging in shadowing, and obtaining patient contact hours.

Our graduates have gone on to successful careers in science-related fields such as medicine, dentistry, public health, environmental conservation, sustainability, bio-pharma and scientific research.

Department Highlight

"You need to make a robot that plays board games against people." , the final project in Dr. Brian Blais' AI and Robotics class in the Science Department at Bryant. This project seems daunting, especially for those students who have had limited or no programming experience. However, the course builds the final project from the ground up, structured in a way to promote the independence and the success of the students. Learn more at: https://web.bryant.edu/~science/
